where making art is not only about impressing people with aesthetics, but enjoying the process. crystalisation of emotions into things that develop reality into true reflections of our inner world.
some of these things are ephemeral, to be witnessed in order to let go and make way for lightness of feeling.

Wheel-Based Mindful Clay Meditation

A core component of my practice is the development of wheel-based mindful clay meditation, a somatic and contemplative process that uses the potter’s wheel as a focal point for presence and regulation. During these sessions, the repetitive, circular motion of the wheel, combined with the tactile feedback of the clay, creates conditions for a deepening of attention and a softening of cognitive overactivity.

Participants (and viewers, in the case of streamed sessions) are invited to observe sensations, emotions, and imagery as they arise, without the pressure to produce a particular outcome. This approach supports nervous system down-regulation, creative self-trust, and a non-pathologising relationship to neurodivergent or “hyperactive” mental states. The practice emerges from my own lived experience of using clay as a way to integrate heightened sensitivity, and from my honours-level research into the intersections of creativity, mental health, and contemplative practice.
